MKAD Branding Guidelines
This page helps establish a coherent look and feel for MKAD, the Midtown Kingston Arts District. With these guideline we can build the appropriate equity for our organization. Our brand is the physical manifestation of our values and the associations we want people to have. Everything we produce says something about us: how we use typography, the way an image is photographed, how a document is laid out, and how and where we deploy color. These guidelines provide specific direction on using each element in our design toolkit to bring our brand to life in the most compelling way that engages our audiences.

Our primary logotype is a visual shorthand for the Midtown Kingston Arts District. The acronym’s letterforms are stacked and aligned to represent the unity of a street intersection joining the community together. The letterforms are created from a stencil font, a nod to Midtown Kingston’s industrial heritage.
Our logo should be placed in any corner with a minimum clearance spacing thatis based on the internal measurement of being twice the size of the intersection’s center square.
- Print Size Minimum Height = 1 in
- Digital Size Minimum Height = 100 px
The logo should always be in solid black or solid white.
We ask that you at least use the MKAD logo the corner. You could also use one of the expanded program logos if appropriate.
You can see and download other logos below.
For printed class materials we recommend including this QR code that links to all classes for both studios.
