John Quinn
John Quinn is an experimental animator who works in both hand-drawn and stop-motion animation; he’s interested in “the tactility and nostalgia of analog methods.” He graduated from the Pratt Institute 2D Animation program in 2024. His thesis film, FREE SNAKES, is a stop-motion animation that has been featured in multiple screenings & festivals, including the Woodstock Film Festival, Portland Festival of Cinema, Animation, and Technology, and Ottawa International Animation Festival amongst others. John is currently a long-term artist-in-residence at Byrdcliffe Arts Colony in Woodstock, where he is currently working on his next film: a 2D animation about legacy, birds, and the digital age.
