Pablo Shine

Midtown Kingston resident Pablo Shine was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico in 1961. He first studied painting under the direction of his father, Professor James Shine at the Art Student League in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Pablo furthered his studies in art history, painting and printmaking at the University of Puerto Rico and the Inter American University in San Juan. During that time he also exhibited his work in many art galleries and museums of the Island including the Ponce Art Museum, the Institute of Puertorican Culture and Botello Gallery. He continued his studies in art at SUNY New Paltz where he earned a Masters degree in Fine Arts. Since then he has had many exhibitions in the Hudson Valley, NYC, Washington DC, and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Pablo taught Drawing and Painting at Ulster County Community College where he was a member of the Visual Arts faculty. He has also taught drawing and/or painting at The Barrett House (Poughkeepsie), Marist College (Hyde Park), SUNY New Paltz, The Woodstock School Of Art and Dutchess Community College. His work is in private collections in the Hudson Valley area, New York City, Los Angeles, London, Japan and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
